Tutorial on how to create fabulous banners for your Zepo store

Off late we have been getting a lot of queries on how to best use the “Banner Slideshow” option on the Zepo store. Usually resizing images according to the set resolutions of 740*300 pixels and 940*300 pixels, is a major hurdle to having great looking banners.

So when we came across and its super easy way to resize and edit banners and then also download it, we thought we’d make a tutorial for the same, to help you along.

This post includes a Video tutorial where we show you how we resized an existing picture and put in text to be uploaded on our Zepo store.

And below that we have answered some FAQs.

We hope this helps and that you create awesome banners for your even more awesome stores. 🙂

1. What do I do if I don’t want to resize my image according to the background dimensions?

If you don’t want to spoil your image resolution, there are other options available in the layout tab. After you’ve selected to upload your own image as the background,  these other options open up below it, which let you decide whether you want your background image’s dimension to be the same as your banner’s or not.

Out of the options available, you may choose to stretch your image, resize and re-align, tile over the image or resize and then tile.  You can choose any one option depending on your display choice.

2. Is there a size limit or a particular type of image I can upload?

Yes, there is a size limit on the file size you upload. The file size CANNOT be bigger than 450kb. If your image happens to be greater than 450KB, we had written an earlier post on how to resize images and you can use JPG, JPEG, GIF or PNG images.

3. Is there an upper limit on how much text I can put on my banner?

Banners are more a visual treat and should generally contain less of text, so we advice you not to put in too much text. But in case, you need to put in text, lets you put in a total of 6 lines of text and every line supports 254 characters in all, including spaces. So choose wisely about what text goes in. Every line of text can be individually formatted to your liking.

4. Can I download my banner in any other image format?

That is also possible. lets you download your banner in 3 different image file types i.e. .PNG, .JPEG and .GIF.

5. What do I do if I don’t have the image on my computer but rather on a webpage?

Don’t worry if the image you want to put out as a banner is not saved on your computer. You can get to fetch the image you need from the URL and then use it.

6. Can I make flash banners for my Zepo store on

Creating flash banners on this website is not possible. It lets you make and edit only image file format banners. Only JPG, JPEG, GIF and PNG image types are supported on this website.

7. Can I crop an image on and then use it?

Cropping an image on is not possible. But you may try cropping your image on other picture editing softwares like Picasa and then use to for the banner on this website.

8. Can I create a collage as my banner on

No, creating a collage on your banner is not possible on this website. Although, we did write a blog post about how to create collage banners on Picasa.

Did you make banners and use it on your website. Send us the link to your website. We would love to check it out. 🙂
